FAQs

Here are the answers to some of the most frequently asked questions about Vacation Bible School…

  • Morning Session 9am–Noon
  • Evening Session 6–9pm

Who is VBS for?

This year, VBS is for children who are five years old (by June 23) through 6th grade completed.

What should my child wear?

Casual attire is best (shorts, t-shirts) with close-toed shoes (no flip flops, please; tennis shoes preferred). Your child will have game time outside every day, and they will need to be comfortably dressed. Also, sometimes crafts can get a little messy, so wear something that you don’t mind getting dirty. Put sunscreen on your child before dropping them off

What should my child bring?

As little as possible. They will be moving from room to room, and unnecessary stuff can get lost easily.

How will my child’s food allergies be handled?

Make sure you indicate any allergies on your child’s registration form. We have a daily snack and also offer bags of Skinny Pop popcorn or Lays potato chips as an alternative. If what we provide doesn’t work for your child, you are welcome to provide your own snack. Please give it to your child’s group leader at drop-off.

*The list of daily snack allergens will be posted shortly.

How do I know what group/class my child will be in?

We usually finalize classes a few days before VBS begins. An email will be sent out with each child’s class assignment. Unfortunately, spam filters can catch these emails, so please check your spam filter and add kids@nwbible.org to your safe sender’s list.

How much are t-shirts? Does my child need one? How do I pay?

T-shirts are $10 and are not required, but most kids buy one…it’s fun to see a sea of kids wearing their VBS shirts. You can purchase them with cash or check. Sorry, no credit or debit cards.

How much are music albums?

The VBS albums are $5 (cash or check), and will be available as digital downloads or CDs.

What time should I bring my child?

Come early on Monday. Since it’s the first day it takes a little longer to get checked in. Our opening sessions start at 9am and 6pm so make sure you arrive in time for them to get checked in for our opening. Your kids won’t want to miss it!

How do I drop off and pick up my child?

We ask that you park in the main parking lot, walk your child into the building, and drop them off at their group (in the Worship Center) each day. You will enter through our main doors, under the canopy, and head into the Worship Center to drop off your child. Pick up will be the same as drop off.

What if someone other than me is picking up?

Please let your child’s leader know at drop-off if someone other than you is picking up your child.

Can my child be in a group with a friend?

We try to honor requests for your child to be with their friends. All our games, crafts, and lessons are geared towards specific ages, so if there is a large age gap between children (more than one grade) we would ask that your child stays in their age-appropriate group.

Will you have a concession stand during the evening session this year?

Yes! It will open in the gym each evening at 5pm with items for 50¢ or $1 each. Check back for updates, including our daily menu. The concession stand will close at 5:45pm so everyone can be in the Worship Center for the opening session.

Do you have a special guest on VBS Sunday this year?

Our closing program will be Sunday, June 25, at 9 & 10:45am, featuring internationally known Christian magician Brad Brown!

Brad combines his side-splitting comedy and mind-blowing magic to engage and entertain audiences while presenting gospel truth.

His programs include sleight of hand, mind reading, making objects appear or disappear, card magic, and almost any impossible thing you can imagine. It’s all presented with Brad’s unique sense of humor, creating an experience beyond mere “magic tricks.”

Drop off and pick up for the closing program will be in the gym with your child’s VBS group.
