Set Your Bearing

Cory DiCarro

Executive Pastor

Whether you realize it or not, you’re in a race… the race of life. And life has thrown some difficult things our way lately. How you run this race matters!

The Apostle Paul spoke often about the race of life and how we’re to run. In this series, we’ll look at key questions like, “Am I running well?”, “How do I run well?”, and, “What helps me run well?” Exploring the answers to these questions will equip you to navigate the current climate and run the race of life better than ever!

Discussion Questions

Don’t be afraid to add to this list, skip questions that don’t work for your group or branch off with additional questions as discussion unfolds. Conversation is key! This is the time to work through the application of scripture and have group members figure things out together.

  1. As you listened to today’s message, what was something new you learned…or… what was something that was reinforced? How does this impact or strengthen your view of the Bible?
  2. How much of the Bible sets the bearing (morals, ideals, truths, etc.) for your life?
  3. What happens when your thoughts, feelings, and/or ideas differ from the Bible?
  4. When it comes to the trustworthiness, accuracy, and relevancy of the Bible, do you have questions or doubts? Share and research if applicable.
  5. Do you believe you can know and understand God’s Word? Is there anything holding you back? If God’s Word is directing your life, is there someone you need to come alongside and help understand the Bible more? (Maybe someone in your group!)
  6. In your note’s you wrote, “My view of God is a determining factor in my view of God’s Word.” Discuss.
  7. In your notes you wrote, “My view of God’s Word is a clear indicator of my view of God.” Discuss.
  8. What have you learned from your time in the Bible this week? How is it transforming your life currently?
