Am I Willing?

Ken Harrell
Senior Pastor
When it comes to accomplishing His plan, God wants His children to understand something… it has to be all about Him. He wants to involve us in the process, but make no mistake, He wants all the glory. So if we want to be used by God, and God wants the glory, the question we need to ask ourselves is, “Am I Willing?”

Discussion Questions
Don’t be afraid to add to this list, skip questions that don’t work for your group, or branch off with additional questions as discussion unfolds. Conversation is key! This is the time to work through the application of scripture and have group members figure things out together.
- How did Pastor’s illustration of God “working through us” using his coat, impact your perspective of how God can use you?
- Pastor described that it’s not your ability… it’s your availability. We see that in several examples in scripture, including the disciples themselves who didn’t have seminary degrees but rather were willing to take up their cross and follow Jesus. How “available” are you to God today?
- Pastor Harrell mentioned that there are two incorrect ways we can view ourselves that hinder our ability to be useful to God… (Think too highly of ourselves; Think too little of ourselves). Have you ever fallen into one of these two categories? How has God changed your perspective of yourself to allow you to be more useful to Him?
- Today, we learned that if you are courageous, committed, confident, and obedient, God can and will use you for His glory, which will simultaneously bless you. Does this mean that your life will be nothing but earthly blessings from that point forward? How do we reconcile that some of the most faithful Christians have experienced some of the most intense trials? How do we continue to trust God in the midst of those trials?
- In this week’s passage, we learned that God used 300 Israelites against an enemy of 135,000 soldiers. Pastor then joked that it was because “God loves a fair fight!” God is in complete control and loves us! Do stories like this (where God overcomes odds) build confidence in your faith? Please explain if so.
- Where do you need more Courage, Commitment, or Confidence in your life so that God gets the glory?
Accountability
- Where are you reading in the Bible this week, and what is God revealing to you?
- Discuss any struggles you may be going through with your group.
- How can you be praying for your group this week? How can they be praying for you?
