Do this in remembrance of Me

Ken Harrell
Senior Pastor
We’re dedicating the entire morning to communion. It’s the time we set aside to reflect on the greatest gift ever given…the sacrifice that Jesus made for each of us on the cross.
Key Scripture
Discussion Questions
Don’t be afraid to add to this list, skip questions that don’t work for your group, or branch off with additional questions as discussion unfolds. Conversation is key! This is the time to work through the application of scripture and have group members figure things out together.
- Pastor opened up our service this week with 1 Thessalonians 5:18 in light of Thanksgiving. Philippians 4:8 also reminds us that we are to think about things that are true, right, admirable, etc. Read those verses as a group. Please share three things that you’re thankful for. Do you reflect on these things daily and allow them to fill your mind (even while going through trials)?
- The church was given two ordinances to carry out: Baptism and Communion. Has anyone in your group not been baptized yet? What’s keeping you from doing so? Does anyone struggle to understand the purpose of communion where your group can potentially help?
- Read 1 Corinthians 11:27. Why is it important to approach communion with the right heart? What does that look like since we all know that our righteousness comes from the Lord?
- Verse 28 shares how we are supposed to examine ourselves. What is the Lord convicting you of as you repent of anything that’s not honoring or glorifying Him?
Accountability
- Where are you reading in the Bible this week? What has God been revealing to you through your quiet time with Him?
- Discuss any struggles you may be going through with your group.
- How can you be praying for your group this week? How can they be praying for you?
