FAQs

Here are the answers to some of the most frequently asked questions we get about Vacation Bible School…

  • Morning Session 9am–Noon
  • Evening Session 6–9pm
This year, VBS is for children who are entering Kindergarten in the fall of 2021 through 6th grade completed.

Due to the pandemic, we will be reducing the number of children who are able to participate this year. By reducing the number of children, we hope to reduce the amount of contact. Also, each child will have their own craft and science supplies to reuse daily, also to reduce contact. Snacks will be served in individually wrapped packages. We will also be increasing our hand washing and room sanitization procedures.

We will also have different drop-off and pick-up procedures. See below.

Casual attire is best (shorts, t-shirts) with close-toed shoes (no flip flops, please; tennis shoes preferred). Your child will have game time outside every day, and they will need to be comfortably dressed. Also, sometimes crafts can get a little messy, so wear something that you don’t mind getting dirty. Put sunscreen on your child before dropping them off.
As little as possible. They will be moving from room to room, and unnecessary stuff can get lost easily.

Make sure you indicate any allergies on your child’s registration form. We have a daily snack and also offer bags of Skinny Pop popcorn as an alternative. If what we provide doesn’t work for your child, you are welcome to provide your own snack. Please give it to your child’s group leader at drop-off.

We usually finalize classes a few days before VBS begins. An email will be sent out with each child’s class assignment. Unfortunately, spam filters can catch these emails, so please check your spam filter and add kids@nwbible.org to your safe senders list.
T-shirts are $10 and are not required, but most kids buy one…it’s fun to see a sea of kids wearing their VBS shirts. You can purchase them with cash or check. Sorry, no credit or debit cards.
The VBS albums are $5 (cash or check), and will be available as digital downloads or CDs.
Come early on Monday. Since it’s the first day it takes a little longer to get checked in. Our opening sessions start at 9am and 6pm so make sure you arrive in time for them to get checked in for our opening. Your kids won’t want to miss it!

Big changes for 2021. We ask that you park in the main parking lot, walk your child into the building, and drop them off at their group (in the gym) each day. You will enter at our main doors, under the canopy, follow the directional signage to the gym, drop off your child, and exit through the proper doors. Drop-off and pick-up for all children (entering Kindergarten through 6th grade completed) will be in the gym this year.
Please let your child’s leader know at drop-off if someone other than you is picking up your child.
We try to honor requests for your child to be with their friends. All our games, crafts and lessons are geared towards specific ages, so if there is a large age gap between children (more than one grade) we would ask that your child stays in their age appropriate group.
Sorry, we will not have a VBS Concession Stand this year.

Our closing program will be Sunday, July 25, 10am with special guest Shane Wilbanks.

Shane Wilbanks is a speaker, artist, and illusionist. What began as a hobby 30 years ago quickly paid for Bible College and now sets Shane apart as one of the few unique Gospel Airbrush Artists in the nation. As an illusionist, Shane is not only able to provide wonder and fun, but capture the attention and creatively make known the mystery of the Gospel. All ages enjoy his fun illusions, amazing paintings, and clear messages. Outstanding, amazing, captivating, biblical, motivating, fun, and engaging are just a few of the words used to describe the unique ministry of Shane Wilbanks.

Kids can be dropped off and picked up with their groups in the gym, just like you do all week at VBS.
